Affirming You Therapy is a private practice offering trauma-informed and affirming mental healthcare with a focus on neurodivergent, queer, and other marginalized communities. As a therapist at Affirming You Therapy, I offer individual and couples/relational therapy, working with youth and adults. I further provide specialized care for transgender and gender-expansive individuals, including assistance with letters of support for hormone therapy and gender-affirming surgeries. I prefer to support clients with an integrated theory of therapy, using interventions from many modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialecical-behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing, and internal family systems (IFS/parts work). Here is what to expect the first couple of sessions: 1st session: I get to know you through a series of questions that create your biopsychosocial intake, which are fancy words for your background, your history, and who you are! 2nd session: We collaboratively discuss what you would like to change and how you would like to accomplish that, creating a treatment plan for guidance along the way. 3rd session and beyond: We start to do the work of exploring your thoughts, emotions and experiences, recognizing patterns, challenging core beliefs, and developing self-awareness to process your feelings and make meaningful changes.
