Provider Description
I work from a place of openness, curiosity, compassion and introspection. I have experience with psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness, behavioral therapies, and client advocacy. I also incorporate body based work when that is meaningful and appropriate for the client. Overall, I believe in the power of an integrated approach. In my experience, therapy is best guided by the patient’s unique hopes, desires, fears and needs. I have worked in many different contexts to provide trauma-informed and anti-oppression treatment environments. I continue to do that in my own practice. I understand that this necessarily requires being open to criticism, and being able to be accountable for my own missteps and biases. I have extensive experience working with the lgbtq+ and HIV+ community, in many different contexts. I primarily work with trauma, eating issues and body image, substance use, depression and anxiety.
