I came into medicine most influenced by the women’s self-care movement of the late ’70s. I think health care can be about helping people have control over their bodies and their lives. The wide range of treatments that naturopathic doctors are trained in is one of the things that most excites me about naturopathic medicine: nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy, physical medicine together allow me many options for treating all kinds of patients with all kinds of health concerns.
