Provider Description
Do you ever feel a lack of control over your own self? Frustrated by feeling stuck in a cycle that you have tried or wanted to break, but with limited success? Do intense emotions or anxiety cause you physical pain, and make it difficult to survive and navigate daily life? Does taking control over your life feel like a dauntless or impossible task? Does trauma hold a part of you hostage in the past? If any of these sound like you, I may be a good fit for you as a therapist. My goal is to help you gain more control over the seemingly uncontrollable. I use a combination of techniques to tailor an approach best suited to your needs. Some of these techniques include “rewiring/ rewriting” the critical or panicked personal dialogue in your mind, using mindfulness to help ground the mind in a calmer reality, and tools to navigate and control an emotional crisis. I am a therapist with lived experience not only with mental illness, but as a client in therapy. I have been the one receiving therapy, and I bring these experiences into the therapy room (what did I like? what did I find discouraging? What was most helpful?).
