Provider Summary
Provider Description
I am a queer, cis, white pelvic health physical therapist specializing in trauma-informed care for patients 15 years old and up. I provide care in a hospital-based clinic for patients who have bowel, bladder, sexual dysfunction, abdominal pain and/or pelvic pain. I also see patients with concerns before, during, or after gestation/pregnancy. I am board-certified to assess and treat patients with any anatomy, body size, and medical/surgical history. I consider fat justice an important part of my practice and personal life. I often collaborate with care teams when appropriate and with patient consent, as patient collaboration and safety are always priority. I believe patients should be treated holistically and will always advocate for this, if desired. I work closely with colleagues in other departments and with feedback from my own patients to establish relevant standards of care for LGBTQIA+ patients, in particular for transgender and gender diverse folks. I have extensive training in providing care for LGBTQIA+ patients and do not consider my queer identity a replacement for this. I look forward to working with future patients and to making pelvic health PT a realistic option for anyone choosing to pursue it. Listed provider: Arianna Mitropoulos. Credentials: DPT, PT.
