Colby (they/them) is a Licensed Social Worker who received their Master's of Social Work at Case Western University. Colby has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings. Colby’s past work experiences include crisis management, IOP/PHP, sexual assault crisis support, and school-based therapy. Colby has a passion for working with children/adolescents, the LGBTQ+ community, and trauma survivors. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, Colby understands the value of queer therapy spaces. Therapy can at times be scary and can make you feel vulnerable. No one should have to worry about others’ perceptions of their identities in these spaces as well. Colby strives to create a safe space during sessions and utilizes a person-centered approach. Colby highlights the benefits of a trusting therapeutic relationship with the combination of therapy approaches such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and somatic interventions. In Colby’s free time, they enjoy spending time playing board games, doing puzzles, embroidering, and playing with their dog. Colby also spends time learning how to improve their work and enjoys listening to podcasts and books about therapeutic interventions.
