I’m Alex Howard, LSW, a trauma-informed therapist practicing at Courage to Connect Mental Health Center. I specialize in EMDR therapy and work with teens and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and identity-related stress. I believe healing happens when clients feel seen, supported, and safe to be their full selves. Clients can expect their first session to feel collaborative, grounding, and free of judgment. I take time to learn what brings you in, what has helped or hindered progress before, and what meaningful change looks like for you. My approach is LGBTQ+ affirming and integrates EMDR with CBT, ACT, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to meet you where you are. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable, focusing first on safety and stability before working through deeper material. My goal is to create a space where growth, authenticity, and connection can truly thrive.
