Hi, I’m Katelyn, a University of Michigan trained licensed social worker offering individual therapy. I see in-person clients in the Chicagoland area and can meet via telehealth with clients who live in Illinois, Texas, and Washington D.C. Since 2016, I have provided direct services to clients in the form of individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, survivor advocacy, and Title IX advising in private practice, higher education, and community-based nonprofit settings. I have extensive experience serving LGBTQ+ folks, including trans and non-binary people. I especially enjoy working with young and emerging adults, those recovering from interpersonal or religious trauma, and chronically ill, disabled, and/or neurodivergent folks. In addition to my current work in private practice, I am a PhD candidate in social work and sociology at the University of Michigan writing a dissertation on innovative prevention approaches to campus sexual harm. As someone who has sat on both sides of the therapist’s office, I deeply believe that healing is possible for everyone. I view the main vehicle for this change as connection, and, accordingly, I invest heavily in creating a safe, trustworthy, and authentic therapeutic relationship with transparency, curiosity, and humility. My goal is that all parts of you feel seen and understood as I support you in becoming your best self, as defined by you. I prize engagement and dialogue over directives and approach the work with compassionate candor, insight, creativity, and (sometimes) even jokes.
