I’m Katie Leikam, MBA, LCSW, a WPATH GEI SOC8-certified therapist specializing in affirming therapy for transgender, nonbinary, gender-expansive, and LGBTQ+ adults. Many of the clients I work with are navigating gender identity, anxiety, religious trauma, neurodivergence, chronic illness, chronic pain, burnout, masking, relationship stress, medical trauma, or the emotional exhaustion that comes from trying to be understood in systems that were not built with them in mind. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in respect for your lived experience. I believe you are the expert on your own identity. My role is not to define who you are, but to listen, support self-exploration, and help you build a more trusting relationship with yourself. I draw from CBT, existential therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindful self-compassion, and supportive talk therapy, adapting our work to your needs, energy, and goals. Therapy with me is affirming, thoughtful, and emotionally realistic — a space where your complexity is respected and you do not have to translate or minimize who you are.
