Provider Description
Hi, I’m Afshin (pronounced “of-sheen”), an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist passionate about supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, new parents, young children, and adolescents. My journey into the world of mental health began eight years ago while working with youth in the juvenile justice system at a local nonprofit. While working in that field, I saw firsthand how deeply families and at-risk adolescents needed mental health support. That realization led me to pursue a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and since then, my passion for helping clients meet their mental health goals has only grown. In my work, I aim to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel comfortable being themselves as they move through different stages of life. My approach is integrative and flexible to meet the unique needs of each client. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and other evidence-based modalities, but my heart lives in Narrative and Dialectical Behavior Therapies. I also love weaving in art therapy, mindfulness, and creative interventions to help clients reconnect with their inner world.
