Provider Description
Hi, I’m Natalie Colantuono! I am a queer, Health At Every Size® (HAES) informed Registered Dietitian and eating disorder specialist who is deeply committed to eating and body liberation for all people. My interest in this work was originally sparked by my love for food, nourishment, and promoting well-being through eating experiences. However, my commitment to this work has since been solidified by my whole-hearted belief that all humans deserve the right and opportunity to safely, joyfully, and unapologetically take up space without the cultural narrative to shrink (mentally and physically). I firmly believe we are unable to show up as our truest, most vibrant and vast selves while we are preoccupied with food, body size, and oppressive societal health ideals. I partner with my clients to create compassionate eating and self-care practices that honor our inherent human needs, nurture safety in our bodies, and help us step away from shame. Fostering a warm, inclusive environment is at the heart of my approach, where the lived experiences and values of my clients form the foundation for our therapeutic work. My style is person-centered, relational, curious, and deeply respectful of my client’s autonomy. I regularly integrate social justice themes into my practice, redirecting accountability from the individual and toward the systems of oppression that perpetuate harm and reinforce eating disorder culture. I believe that nutrition and health care are inherently political concepts, which requires all healthcare providers to be fierce social justice advocates. As a neurodivergent-identifying provider and ADHDer, I have a particular interest in supporting the intersection of eating disorders, Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), executive functioning difficulties, and neurodivergence. Through an anti-capitalist and accommodations-centered lens, I offer support that acknowledges the complexity of your experiences, honors your capacity, and allows you to find what nourishment and well-being means to you outside of our culture’s multitudes of “shoulds.” You deserve support that works with your unique needs and values, not against them. I’ve earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Pittsburgh, where I specialized in eating disorders care. I would be honored to stand beside you in this complex and liberating journey of reclaiming home, trust, and safety in your body.
